About Chillat

Chillat is running on various hardware. The empire consist of three main servers, tira, linea, and sophia. Tira is powered by a Pentium 4 CPU at 1.4ghz and is the main server. Sophia is a Pentium 4 at 1.2ghz, and Linea is the development server, powered by a Pentium 3 CPU at 1ghz.

What do we offer the world then? Just a place to chill, take it easy, relax. Welcome to our corner of the Internet.

Microblogging

We have a really coozy Microblog at http://chillat.net. Join in, subscribe to someone, and go with the flow. Reply by putting @name somewhere in your post, tag messages by #hashing them, and to post to a group you put a !bang before it. We have a really neat !np group you can join.

The microblog works excellent with Twhirl, and can also be used with Ping.fm as well as over jabber. Just add the bot, laconica@chillat.net to your buddy list to get started.

Jabber / XMPP

We have a Jabber server up as well, running at chillat.net. You can register from within your Jabber client. There is no specific signup page or such for the Jabber server.

If your client is unable to connect, find the option to manually specify the connect server, and set it to xmpp.chillat.net.

Forums

Our forums are running bbPress and can be found at forums.chillat.net. They are open to everybody, and the ravatars are fetched from gravatar.com so in order to change your avatar, just create or update your gravatar profile with the new picture.

Blogs

Yup. We host quite a few of them. Want one of your own? We might be able to help you. Drop us a mail, or poke us on jabber and we will see what we can do to scratch your itch :)
